About SCVS

Slough Council for Voluntary Service

Slough CVS is your local group set up to help people who
want to start a voluntary group or who want to see their existing
group develop its work, get funds or undertake new services.

Slough CVS gives information, advice, training and
continuing support around:

  • The kinds of group to set up
  • Roles of the people in it
  • Running an efficient meeting
  • Writing a constitution
  • Venues to hire
  • Local people who can help
  • Local groups doing similar work
  • Local partnerships your group could join
  • Funding opportunities

Slough CVS carries out these functions by:  

  • One-to-one advice and consultancy
  • A quarterly news letter - Newsline
  • Individual group training
  • Training sessions
  • Making books and leaflets available
  • Use of an information and Resource Room

Slough CVS is an association of local voluntary groups who
elect from among themselves representatives to manage
the organisation.
