About SCVS
Slough Council for Voluntary
Service
Slough CVS is your local group set up to help
people who
want to start a voluntary group or who want
to see their existing
group develop its work, get funds or undertake new services.
Slough CVS gives information, advice, training
and
continuing support around:
- The kinds of group to set up
- Roles of the people in it
- Running an efficient meeting
- Writing a constitution
- Venues to hire
- Local people who can help
- Local groups doing similar work
- Local partnerships your group could join
- Funding opportunities
Slough CVS carries out these
functions by:
- One-to-one advice and consultancy
- A quarterly news letter - Newsline
- Individual group training
- Training sessions
- Making books and leaflets available
- Use of an information and Resource Room
Slough CVS is an association of local voluntary groups
who
elect from among themselves representatives to manage
the organisation.
