Who we are

Slough Council for Voluntary Service is your local charity set up to help people who want to start a voluntary group or who want to see their existing group develop its work, get funds or undertake new services.

It also gives local groups a chance to participate in the town's
decision making process. Various forums are held during the
year to gain people's views.

Slough CVS gives information, advice, training and
continuing support around:

  • The kinds of group to set up
  • Roles of the people in it
  • Running an efficient meeting
  • Writing a constitution
  • Local people who can help
  • Local groups doing similar work
  • Local partnerships your group could join
  • Funding opportunities

Slough CVS carries out these functions by:

  • One-to-one Development Work
  • Capacity Building
  • Training sessions
  • Participation events
  • Funding events
  • A quarterly newsletter - Newsline
  • Group Finance support
  • Governance advice
  • Fundraising support
  • Use of a Resource Room
  • Slough Quality Protects Assurance Programme

Slough CVS is an association of local voluntary groups who elect from among themselves representatives to manage the organisation.
