Advice Surgeries in London
HLF hold monthly advice surgeries for ‘Your Heritage’
projects (for grants £5,000- £50,000) on the first Wednesday
of the month at our regional office in London. You can reserve a 45 minute
slot with one of our development staff between 10.00am – 1.00pm
and 2.00pm - 5.00pm.
To make the best use of your slot, we ask that
you send in brief details of your project in advance. To book a surgery

HERITAGE LOTTERY FUND - Young Roots

Projects which involve young people in the heritage
of the UK including researching lost customs and traditions in the community,
increasing awareness of the natural heritage and recording and celebrating
the histories of people from different communities in the area.

We will also provide you with advice and support to give you the best
chance of success.
Type of project or activity funded
Community Cash Awards are grants of up to £5,000
to help young people set up a project that will benefit their community.You
just have to come up with an idea for a project that will improve life
in a local community in the UK. Maybe a new basketball court, a music
studio, a youth club, sex education workshops in schools, a youth advisory
board, even a local magazine.
Projects must:
- be run and managed by people between the ages
of 14 and 25
- clearly benefit the local community
- benefit the people running the project; and
- be a new or developing project

This fund relates to the priorities of Slough’s Sustainable Community
Strategy, Proud to be Slough, which sets out a twenty year vision for
the town. The fund is especially targeted at organisations supporting
people who are facing disadvantage, discrimination or deprivation. Only
organisations with an annual income of less than £20,000 are eligible
to apply. The funding applied for must be in the interests of Slough and
bring direct benefit to the town and/or its residents. Funding will normally
be awarded for one year only. Organisations will receive one grant only
within the financial year.

We are most interested in helping smaller, under-resourced
